   The Greater Omaha Sports Committee is proud to announce the 2009/2010 Male & Female Outstanding Scholar Athlete along with the Spring Scholar Athlete Award Winners sponsored by Regal Awards. Twelve High School Seniors, Five boys, Seven girls, representing eight different area High Schools were honored for not only their contributions on the field but their academic accomplishments in the class room. Students of this caliber are “The Cream of the Crop” says Jo Dusatko (Greater Omaha Sports Committee sub-committee chair), “it goes with out saying these kids are why we love to coach and teach. This Year’s recipients’ are Outstanding Male - Andrew Martin - Elkhorn High School and Outstanding Female - Courtney Ruff  - Thomas Jefferson High School for Baseball ~ Jonathan Keck - Skutt Catholic High School,  Golf ~ Mike Muller - Millard North High School,   Soccer ~ Kyle Tucker - Skutt Catholic High School ~ Ashley Hick - Millard North High School ~ Chelsey Poole - Millard West High School ~ Melanie McCormick - Marian High School, Tennis ~ Lauren Keller - Westside High School, and Track & Field ~ Myles Azevedo - Millard West High School ~ Darion Archie - North High School ~ Lauren Welch - Papillion LaVista High School.

     For more than fifteen years the Greater Omaha Sports Committee has honored the Outstanding Scholar Athlete of that particular Sport and for the Year in the Omaha Metro Area. These students are judged not only for their accomplishments on the field but for their scholastic achievements in the class room. This Spring's recipients were Outstanding and many participated in other Varsity Sports.
