..... The 14th Annual Taste of Omaha Festival is gearing up for a weekend full of free concerts and activities for the whole family. Mike Mancuso, the Event Director, said, "The Festival will be held once again in the Heartland of America Park as it has since 1998. The Park is protected by the Mainline Union Pacific Railroad Tracks next to the riverfront." The Festival will move plans at the Lewis & Clark Landing to 8th Street next to the Heartland of America Park Entrance as well as Farnam and Douglas Streets to 10th Street. The new layout is an exciting plan in cooperation with the City of Omaha to accommodate all of this great family tradition. People attending this year's event are encouraged to park west of 10th Street and enter the festival at Farnam or Douglas Streets. Capitol Avenue is the recommended street to access Riverfront Drive where there is additional free parking. The Festival will also continue a free park and ride from the Gallup Campus on Friday and Saturday evenings from 5:30 PM to 11:30 PM.
.......The “TASTE OF OMAHA”, Omaha’s Showcase of Great Foods and Entertainment, will be open Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4, from 11 AM to 11 PM as well as Sunday, June 5 from 11 AM to 8 PM. The Festival is Free to attend thanks to the Community Sponsors and Partners, including the J. Skinner Baking Company, Rotella’s Bakery, Verizon, Pinnacle Bank, Deffenbaugh, Wahl Tour, Coca-Cola, Best Western Seville Plaza and Media Partners, Clear Channel Radio and KPTM 42, as well as other community sponsors.
